The Chelsea foward was sent off after being shown a second yellow card for misconduct and the Football Association has charged him.

The Spanish international have been alleged to have broken the one of rules of the game by bitting his opponet Gareth Barry during a brawl between them, but both denied it happened.

The player has until 18:00 GMT on Thursday, 17 March to respond to the charge.

He has also been given until Wednesday to provide his observations to the FA over an alleged gesture made towards Everton supporters while leaving the pitch at half-time.
