Nigeria Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick has told the Flying Eagles to go all out for victory in their second game against Congo on Wednesday.

The Nigeria U20 side defeated Senegal 3-1 in Sunday’s opening Group A game and require a win against next opponents to reach the Fifa U20 World Cup.

Congo drew 1-1 with Cote d’Ivoire in the second game of Group A where Nigeria lead with three points. A win on Wednesday will see Nigeria qualify for New Zealand 2015 as well as earn a slot in the semi final of the African championship.

It is great to start with three points, with the win over the host nation on Sunday. We are happy with that. But it is important that we go all out against Congo-Brazzaville on Wednesday and wrap up a ticket to the World Cup,” Pinnick told the NFF website.

We cannot under-rate the Congolese. Yes, we have a capable team, but when you get too confident, you can get a sucker punch. It is
important that we play it like the championship final and earn the ticket to the World Cup early.

After Sunday’s game, coach Manu Garba praised his players and declared: “Our greatest aim is to qualify for the Fifa U20 World Cup
and more importantly as African champions.
