No Cristiano but three Chelsea Players in Ronaldinho’s Champions League Dream Team
Brazilian legend Ronaldinho has named his Champions League dream team XI, and he seems to have a lot of respect for Chelsea.
Current Chelsea captain John Terry makes the side, as do former Blues Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele.
As reported by the Daily Mail, Ronaldinho said Terry was a “fantastic leader,” revealed that he asked Frank Rijkaard to try to sign Lampard for Barcelona and described Makelele as “the best [he has] ever seen doing the job of protecting the defence.”
Unsurprisingly, Ronaldinho’s former Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi also makes the team, but there is no room for Cristiano Ronaldo.
There is a Ronaldo in the team, but it is the legendary Brazilian striker and not the current Real Madrid star.
Ronaldinho said of Ronaldo, “He was my idol and then I end up playing and winning a World Cup with him. The most complete striker there has ever been, the most complete striker there will ever be, it is almost unbelievable to think that he never won the Champions League.”
Ronaldinho goes for Gianluigi Buffon in goal and a back four of Cafu, Terry, Paolo Maldini and Roberto Carlos. Kaka joins Lampard and Makelele in midfield, and his front three consists of Messi, Ronaldo and another former Barca team-mate in Thierry Henry.
