Newly appointed Dream Team gaffer, Samson Siasia has slammed coaches in the Nigeria domestic league not living up to their responsibilities as it
concerns the training and development of local players.

The former Super Eagles manager who led the country’s U20 team to win silver at the Holland 2005 Fifa U-20 World Championship lamented the standard of coaching in the country.

He said the work of national teams coaches would have been made simpler if players were properly groomed by their club.

“It is so pathetic that you have to spend a lot of time to teach these players the basics before you even go into the issue of blending and working out of your pattern and formations,” Siasia told
DailyNewsWatch.

“Our club coaches must do more than what they are doing so far.

“Let me assure all that I will not tolerate any overage player in my team. They must be young and ready to work with me. Though, it is not going to be an easy job, we must stick to it.

“Importantly, we are looking at building players that will be ripe for the FIFA World Cup in Russia. This is why we have to concentrate on the young players for now,” he concluded.
