Dolphin FC striker Emem Eduok has been ordered out of the Super Eagles camp which is actively in preparation for friendlies in Abu Dhabi.
Following the highly-publicised transfer controversy on the star player who scored the only goal at the inauguration of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium, reports have it that the Nigerian Football Federation president Amaju Pinnick ordered the 25 years old out of the training camp.
The president made it clear that the federation is not causing any harm rather instilling discipline on the football arm of the nation and that Eduok is still a part of the team.
“We are not happy with the cloud of controversy over his transfer issue and it is a terrible distraction to the team and Nigeria football generally.
“Telling him to leave the camp does not mean we are indicting him. We will carry out an investigation and whoever is found guilty, be he/she an agent or player manager or an official of his club, will be duly sanctioned,” Pinnick said at the NFF secretariat in Abuja.
“We have to do this (send the boy out of camp) to serve as a deterrent to others. We are not blaming the player for anything yet; the investigation will
unravel who is guilty. But the distraction and controversy the matter has generated is not good for the camp,” Pinnick said.
The controversial status has caused a tussle between the alleged Esperance Sportive de Tunis that was said to be an almost closed deal and Norwegian club side Sarpsborg 08 that claims to secure a move for the Nigerian forward.
