It promises to be a weekend of exciting football action when Manchester United play host to Jose Mourinho and his Chelsea team at Old Trafford on Sunday in what might be an acid test for the Red
Devils than the ‘Blue Boys’ considering the fact that they (Manchester United) have not faced any of the ‘top 4’ teams this season.
Going into this game, Chelsea looks the better side beaming with confidence having dropped just one point in the English Premier League this season which was against Manchester city.
There is this excellence goalkeeping by Courtois; leadership in the defence led by the captain himself, Terry; The Midfield combination of Nemanja Matic,Oscar and Cesc Fabregas is one in which it cohesiveness is awesome and right crosses coming from the wings with a ‘deadly’ Diego Costa converting his chances, it is looking like it is Chelsea’s game to win.
Manchester United on the other hand, have enjoyed a mixed start to the
season, winning just 3 games. One problem the team seems to be facing
this season is the defence line, it lacks composure and leadership which was evident in the 5-3 loss to Leicester city and other games.
Scoring goals has never been the problem of Manchester United considering the fact, the attack has Robin Van Persie, Radamel Falcao, Angel Di Maria and Wayne Rooney (suspended for the game) but how not to concede
needlessly is the problem and against a potent Chelsea attack is one solution Louis Van Gaal will be figuring out in his head right now.
Rooney missing the game due to suspension is another blow, being
the captain as well as creativiy in the no.10 role would have added another dimension to the team, but never mind there is a Juan Mata somewhere.
X-FACTORS Manchester United: Angel Di Maria Chelsea: Cesc Fabregas
VERDICT
A victory for Chelsea in a game where Manchester United will give it best, but it greatest undoing will be the defence line.
