Former West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola has indicated his interest in the vacant coaching position of the Super Eagles, according to SL10.
The Nigeria national team is currently handled by Shaibu Amodu on a temporal basis following the sack of Stephen Keshi.
The said position has attracted a host of managers from around the globe including Ruud Gullit, Henri Michel, Allain Giresse, Lothar Mathaus, Klaus Toppmoller, Roger Lamerre, and the latest being Chelsea legend, Zola.
According to SL10, the 48-year-old’s agent Ladi Salami has been in contact with the Nigeria Football Federation to include his client in the shortlist of candidates for the vacant position.
“Gianfranco Zola is interested in coaching the Super Eagles and will apply for the job as soon as possible,” a source privy to the communication between Zola’s representative and the NFF told
SL10.NG.
“His agent is in contact with the Nigeria Federation. No negotiations have taken place now until he formally declares interest and both sides weigh all their options.”
