In a recent interview with Chelsea’s website , Fabregas revealed his love for the Gunners and how his admiration for the North London club has always remained following his move to Barcelona in 2011.

Now, he’s talking about a potential future back with Arsene Wenger’s men, as the Spanish midfielder seems to be seeking a return
to the club where he played for over eight years from the age of 16.

From Sid Lowe’s Q & A with Fabregas, for the Guardian, here’s the extract in question:
“Arsenal is in my heart and always will be. I don’t know if I’ll have the opportunity to go back and play there one day, or maybe after football. It’s a club that is always going to be there and will always open its doors to me. The club’s like a family so even if it wasn’t as a coach, I’m sure they’d give me the
chance to play a role. Sol [Campbell] is there now.

Arsenal help a lot with the formation of coaches. [Dennis] Bergkamp also went there two, three times a week when he was doing his coaching badges. In that sense it’s a lovely club and there might be the chance to do something with them.”

Okay, so Cesc is talking about a return either as a player or in another role after his playing days are over. Ask yourself this. If you were a Chelsea fan, how would you feel about Fabregas’ comments regarding your London rivals? You wouldn’t be too happy, right?

Agreed. Anyway, maybe Chelsea’s fans aren’t too bothered so long as Fabregas continues to put in sterling displays for the Blues of West London. Since his summer arrival from Barcelona the silky center midfielder has already notched six assists and one goal in the first five PL matches of the campaign. His creativity in the final third and drive from midfield have made him the heartbeat of the Stamford Bridge club and with 98 assists in 303 games for Arsenal, as well as 48 in 96 games for Barcelona, it’s easy to see how influential the playmaker is.

No matter where his future lies, Fabregas’ phenomenal displays in the present mean he could likely join any club he so chooses. Seems like Arsenal
would be pretty high up on his list should things slot into place.
