Few days ago Nigerian forward Derick Ogbu has moved from CFR Cluj to Chinese club Liaoning Whowin.
On Sunday he has made his first official appearance in Chinese Super League and managed to score 2 goals!
Ogbu’s former club – Romanian CFR Cluj are struggling with financial problems.
That’s why they decided to sell Ogbu when they received the offer from China, depsite the fact they are now left with only 2 strikers.
24-year old Nigerian moved to China for the fee of one million euros. Cluj earned 500,000 euros on his head, as they brought him from OH Leuven last year for half million.
Ogbu quickly agreed with Liaoning and signed a deal, but terms of it were undisclosed.
Today he has already proved Chinese club didn’t make a mistake by bringing him, as he fired two goals in his debut in an away game against Shanghai SIPG.
Ogbu broke the deadlock just 3 minutes into the game. Then in second half he added another goal in 74th minute. At that time Liaoning were leading 3-1, but unfortunately due to mistakes in final
minutes match ended with a 3-3 draw.
Ogbu’s new team is on 14th place in Chinese Super League log and their main goal is avoiding relegation.
After 16 rounds of games they gathered only 15 points.
