Glo Premeir League returned after 6 weeks break and… brought absolutely no surprises.
Seven out of ten games ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts, while in three remaining matches home teams were also victorious.
Dolphins took a narrow 1-0 victory over Kano Pillars.
Only goal of the game was scored in 23rd minute by Emem Eduok. Thanks to this victory Port Harcourt-based outfit ended Masu Gida’s 10 game unbeaten
run.
Yet Pillars depsite defeat remain on top of the league.
Same result was in Jalingo where Taraba FC led by former Super Eagles player Tijani Babangida defeated Gombe United 1-0. Austin Eguavoen started his work with Desert Scorpions in not particularly
great way to mark his return to Nigeria’s top-tier.

Fastest goal of the season was scored by 21-year old striker Boris Tongolo for Bayelsa United as they won 1-0 over Crown FC. Player from Central African
Republic needed just 20 seconds to put the ball in the net. There were no more goals in that game.
Sunshine Stars won 1-0 over Nembe City. Lone goal was scored by super-substitute Newman Musa who bagged in 64th minute, what is especially impressing
as just 2 minutes earlier he was introduced to the pitch.
In the clash of Elephants Giwa FC were better than Enyimba. Ocheme Edoh’s header in 13th minute turned out to be decisive point of the game.
In 57th minute Enyimb’s chances to equalize were very limited as Mfon Udoh was sent off by the referee.
In Abia we witnessed 3 goals as Warriors took a narrow 2-1 victory over Nasarawa United. First half ended with a goalless draw. After resumption Per Onyeachi came in for Bishop Onyeudo and shortly
after that he assisted to John Eze Prince who bagged his debut goal.
Few minutes later Abia Warriors were
leading 2-0 as Emmanuel Makama bagged an own goal.
Nasarawa United finished the game man down as james Amos received marching orders from the referee. In final minutes Sulieman Saleem netted only goal for Sold Miners.
Lobi Stars were able to win 2-1 over Heartland of Owerri. Vistors took the surprising lead through Clement Bobby in 30th minute, but Moses Bunde
levelled the score in 55th minute. As the game was heading to the end Joseph Essien settled the result and handed 3 points to Lobi Stars in his debut for the
club.
Enugu Rangers recorded most convincing victory of round 20 as they smashd El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0.
Emeka Eze brke the deadlock in 55th minute, while Osagona Ighodaro sealed the victory 3 minutes later with a fine strike.
Well executed penalty by Gbolahan Salami in stopage time was all Warri Wolves needed to defeat Kaduna United, while Ini Akpan’s header gave the victory to Akwa United over Sharks.
