As the vacant seat for the Bafana Bafana trainer still remains empty, on-going speculation has it that Stephen Keshi would be the next man for the job and Carlos Queiroz is a contender for that same position.
According to reports, the South African Football Association (SAFA) has come out to debunk the fallacy that’s states Keshi has being signed as the Bafana Bafana new boss and still maintains that the search for the new boss is still very much on quest.
Keshi who just resigned as Nigerian national team coach after 2-0 loss to France in the round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup reveals he ha been linked on a move to another country but yet to make an official statement.
Queiroz on the other hand also resigned as Iran boss after being knocked out in the group stages of the World Cup and has also been praised for the defensive ability he instilled in the Iranian team, holding Keshi’s Nigerian side to a 0-0 draw and forcing Argentina to a 1-0 win was much impressive.
The duo have being speculated to take on the job under the SAFA umbrella.
According to a poll moderated by SPORT24 the fans appear to favour neither of these two candidates with 37% of the votes going to “any local coach PSL coach”. Stephen Keshi was backed by 23% of the readers while Carlos Queiroz only found the support of 17% of the readers.
The rest of the votes were in favour of Shakes Mashaba.
