In as much as much was expected from the ‘Three Lions’, probably the quarter final spot at least, now the story is different as captain Steven Gerrard and his team are sure of falling out of the World’s biggest football plattform in the first round.

I thought this was the dream team after years of struggling for the golden trophy but me with many England faithfuls especially English fans who flaunted images of house decorations with the England flag and showed passion in the stands to cheer their team.

Now trending in the media, ‘Gerrard the weak link’ likely to be after he assisted unstoppable-half-fit Luiz Suarez to get a brace on thursday, and Costa Rica’s shocking win against the Azzuris via Ruiz’s wonderful strike killed the final hope, the last life in the game, and even win against the ‘Shockers’ Costa Rica will do nothing to their advance to the next round spot.

Still on the ‘General’, the Liverpool legend seems to be on the ‘trash list’ or to be ‘deleted’ from the national team’s ‘data base’ this bring us to the question.

Should he go? Now, 23 players are currently representing the English squad, the likes of Ross Barkely, Jordan Henderson, Glen Johnson, Leighton Baines not forgeting the Youngest Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge including Wayne Rooney just to mention a few all played in the last two games, these are big names in English football, but were they not good enough? Or was Roy Hogson tactics not just right? But not to divert from Steven Gerrard probable kick out from the English national team, the question still remains
as simple as, if Gerrad was the cause of England inability to win and therefore he should give way for the younger generation, his time as passed.

Should he flow?No doubt, if there was another chance for the Liverpool captain to feature in Russia in the next four years, nature demands recess and then it is reasonable enough not to include him in a World Cup 23-man list then but, what about Euro 2016, let’s assume he pleads directly or indirectly for a place in the team for his last appearance in the national team probably, what is it going to take to get him fit into the crop, and be of positivity to the team? And, ‘how does he flow? This is the second side of the way, here we have English fans, the media, and the national team to deliberate.

As it stands a win in the third group game against Costa Rica may be a consolation to the highly energetic England fans.
