Fabregas was sold to Chelsea for £30million and he will be paid £150,000-per-week and Arsenal are due £5.6million from that amount due to the agreement made with Barca.
After three years at the Nou Camp, the former Arsenal mid-field maestro joins Premier League top-side Chelsea and seals up a deal before international duty at the World Cup.
A statement on the Barcelona site read; “There has been a downward trend in his stats every season at the club.
“He slipped right back into the FCB (Football Club Barcelona) system as if he’d never been away.
“But despite glowing starts to each campaign, Cesc’s contributions to the cause gradually decreased as each season drew to a close. “From being someone who joined in with the attack, supplying and scoring goals, the magic tended to fade later on in each season. “He only scored one, six and one goals in the last 24 games of each
season.
He was also shown appreciation for his part in the Club. “FC Barcelona wishes to publicly thank Cesc Fabregas fro his professionalism and dedication during his years at the club, which will always be his home.”
Fabregas has been listed among the 23-man La Roja squad and will resume the league in August with Chelsea.
