Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has said that players’ wives would be allowed to be with the team during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had earlier stated that Super Eagles players will not be allowed to have access their wives during this summer’s tournament so as to shift all focus on the World Cup.
But Keshi said it would allow the players to have more concentration if their family members get access to them during the Fifa Mundial competition.
Keshi also shrug off insinuations that the Super Eagles players could be distracted by Brazilian women.
“It’s good for the players because it makes you concentrate better. I remember World Cup 94, some of us went with our wives.
“When I was with Mali, we went to the Nations Cup in Angola with our wives,” Keshi said during a roundtable meeting with media organised by national team sponsors TomTom in Lagos.
