Tunisian club CA Bizertin held Warri Wolves to
a goalless draw on Sunday in first leg
encounter of CAF Confederation Cup second
round. The Seasiders created many
opportunities, but were unable to execute any
of them. Now they are in tough spot ahead of
the rematch in Tunisia.
Wolves started the game in almost strongest line-up.
Only significant player missing was captain Azubuike
Egwuekwe, who got married today and in
consequence was ruled out of the game.
In first half The Seasiders created a bunch of good
actions, but Efe Yarhere and Musa Najare missed the
target. Also Joshua Obaje was close to scoring in 7th
minute, but his shot from the edge of penalty box
was stopped by Bizertin’s keeper Ben Mustapha, who
wass probably the best player in Tunisian side.
In second half Mustapha had some world class saves.
Especially when Ike Thankgod’s precise header was
going right under the bar, but Bizertin’s goalie was
able to stop this shot as well.
„We are not yet out. We will go there (to Tunisia) and
beat them. We will watch the tape of this game later
and plot our strategy for the return leg.” – said
Wolves’ captain Goodluck Onomado quoted by
