Talk about the tuesday night Uefa Champions League clash in stamford
Bridge, the two managers of both side have faced each other verbally in daggers.
Former Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has be replied accordingly by his rival Jose mourinho ahead of the second-leg tie after a 1-1 score draw in Istanbul two weeks ago.
Mancini earlier made some statement about is contender for the UCL quarter-final ticket as an unfriendly person.
A smiling Mancini had suggested he would offer to pay for a post-match meal “if we win”.
But while that was clearly a joke, given the long-held animosity between the two, Mourinho’s response demonstrated his withering contempt for the Italian.
Asked if he would accept the proffered hand of friendship and break bread, Mourinho tersely replied:
“No. Why? Because I have no interest.
After the match I don’t do things because I win or
lose. After matches, what I have in my mind to do,
I do. It doesn’t matter if I win or if I lose.
“I won’t have a meal with somebody who has the
same job as I do, and the only thing we have in
common is the fact we’re both football managers.”
Mourinho’s relationship with his predecessor is one of ill-disguised contempt.
That is similar to the one he has with referee Chris Foy following Saturday’s controversial defeat at Aston Villa and the Portuguese remained in angry mood when asked if he had spoken to Ramires about his red card.
“Don’t you have other things to ask about that
game, more important than Ramires’ tackle in
minute 92?” replied a prickly Mourinho.
“Do you think that, in that game, the most
important thing was Ramires’ tackle in the 92nd
minute. That’s what you want to ask?
“Okay, well I don’t want to answer. Because I feel
that what happened in minute 92 was a
consequence of the other 92 minutes we played
before that.
“I’m sorry if I’m wrong or if you don’t agree with
me. If you want to ask, you should ask about what
made that tackle happen. But that’s just my
opinion.”
Jose mourinho on the contrast, is looking forward to the warm welcome of Didier Drogba on his heroic visit to the home he did marvellously well and as well as the whole Chelsea fans.
